Promotion & Programming Executive

Project Brief: A dedicated project team is being assembled to lead the transformation of a heritage building in downtown Kuala Lumpur into a distinctive cultural and lifestyle destination. The project aims to keep the building’s heritage alive while bringing in fresh, contemporary elements, with a strong focus on showcasing Malaysian creativity, design, and offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Development, Copywriting, & Social Media Strategy:
    • Create and manage multimedia content (photos, videos, reels, captions) across various social media platforms, ensuring consistency in tone, and visual identity.
    • Collaborate with photographers, videographers, and designers to conceptualize and produce high-quality, engaging content.
    • Oversee social media scheduling and publishing, monitor performance and engagement, and respond promptly to comments, messages, and inquiries.
    • Track trends and platform best practices to continuously refine content strategy and improve reach and engagement.
    • Write clear and engaging content for digital, print, and on-site with the right tone and message
  • Events, Marketing & Communications:
    • Conceptualise, plan, and execute public programmes and events (e.g. exhibitions, pop-ups, workshops, cultural activations etc).
    • Coordinate with tenants, vendors, artists, and partners to ensure seamless event execution from planning to on-ground support.
    • Maintain a comprehensive events calendar aligned with campaigns and seasonal initiatives.
    • Support marketing and promotional rollouts, ensuring consistent and culturally sensitive brand messaging.
    • Assist in public relations efforts, including preparing media kits, coordinating with press, and managing communications during sensitive or crisis situations
  • Working Arrangements:
    • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, or during special events as needed.
    • Able to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects

Key Requirements:

  • Degree in Mass Communications/Public Relation/Marketing, or any relevant discipline.
  • At least 3 years of marketing experience, with hands-on involvement in content development, campaigns and PR initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities and fluent in written and spoken Bahasa Malaysia and English. Proficiency in Mandarin or other languages and knowledge of Malaysian History is a bonus.
  • Possess understanding of social media algorithms, best practices, and content strategies to maximize engagement.
  • Proven experience in programme coordination from planning to execution
  • Proven experience in content development with strong copywriting skills
  • Familiar with digital marketing tools and design platforms (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Excellent at managing multiple projects, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in fast-paced, small team environments.
